I was honoured to receive the SECS 2025 Award for Best PhD Thesis for my research on waste-derived Technosols as sustainable solutions for the remediation of contaminated soils and waters.
Last September, I had the opportunity to attend EUROSOIL 2025 together with the Environmental Soil Science, Chemistry and Agricultural Technology Team of the Technical University of Cartagena (UPCT). This congress is one of the most relevant international events in the field of soil science, bringing together researchers, practitioners and policy makers to discuss advances in soil functioning, management and restoration.
Our latest research “Enhancing microbial biodiversity and vegetation growth in polluted soils by constructed Technosols” has been available in Pedosphere since May 2025 (in press).

Amazing week at Paris! From 8th to 13th September 2024, I participated in the First International SUITMA Summer School.
Last Monday I closed a stage in my academic career, I defended the work of these almost 5 years that has been my doctoral thesis in the Department of Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry of the University of Granada. It was an incredible day of enjoyment, in which I learned a lot.

Happy to announce that the third article of my PhD thesis “Technosols Derived from Mining, Urban, and Agro-Industrial Waste for the Remediation of Metal(loid)-Polluted Soils: A Microcosm Assay” has been published in Toxics.
Amazing week at #RENS23! Last week I went to Pamplona (Spain) to present some research at the XXXIII Reunión Nacional de Suelos de la Sociedad Española de la Ciencia del Suelo of 2023 and to explore local soils.
